New Drive Not Showing up on Server

Featured Replies

I had a drive go bad. Drive 1. Stopped the array, shut down and removed the drive.

Added the new drive and no matter what SATA cable I connect, It's not detected. I've tried the original cable, a new sata cable and it's just not showing up in the system.

Connect it to one of the onboard SATA ports and check if the drive is being detect in the board BIOS, if not it also won't be detected by Unraid.

Still having connection or controller problems with that disk. Have you checked power connection? Any splitters?

Nothing is wrong with the server. I've tried different power connections (non splitter) and different sata cables.

Gave up and put in a test system. Drive is recognized but won't clear. Errors.

I think the RMA drive I received from Seagate is BAD... WOW.... Never had these kinds of issues from Seagate ever. And i've RMA'd over 10 drives with them.

So disappointed.
