July 17, 20223 yr Community Expert Yesterday I was away from home and VPN'd in and was using a VM (called Ubuntu Cinnamon 2204 in the logs) which has the qemu guest agent installed. I shut it down (from within the VM as usual), but instead of fully shutting down it seems it stayed stuck somewhere, and from then on that completely froze the Unraid GUI, couldn't load any page. All other VMs and dockers were still running normally. Went to do something else, then later tried accessing the GUI but from my phone (which wasn't logged in). Got the login page, tried logging in and did get to the dashboard, although it took a couple of tries and it was slow. Could see from RAM usage that the VM was still not fully off. Did a force stop of it which worked and everything was back to normal. Had SSH disabled but reenabled it so that I can at least attempt a clean shutdown if such a freeze happens again. Diags attached, what could be the cause of the issue? I did have one other GUI freeze before, also related to VMs, but in this case it was that the USB SSD it was running off outright died so it's kinda forigable, but still it seems the UI should be isolated from these... It seems like at least the VM page of the UI might be missing a timeout or something and hangs the whole thing for very long if it can't get some info it's trying to obtain from the VM subsystem. I grabbed the diags from the phone as soon as the offending VM was force stopped. Edited June 7, 20242 yr by Kilrah
