May 30, 201115 yr Hi Guys, Have setup Unraid successfully with 2 disk drives. I started an array without parity and without formating the drives. I have looked through all options and enabled SMB etc and am on the right workgroup. On my Windows 7 PC I can only see the "flash" file (the USB drive which Unraid is running off) On one of the disks i have a number of files id like to access but they will not show up in windows networking... Is it because these drives have not been formatted first?

May 31, 201115 yr UnRaid does not use file systems like FAT32/NTFS and HDDs need to be formatted before you can use them in the storage array. If one of them is able to be formatted, remove the other from the array and format the drive without data on it. You may be able to use the terminal (logging in through SSH/Telnet) to copy the data across, or take out the HDD with data on it and put it in another computer so you can copy the data onto the new array, then put that HDD in the server, add it to the array and format it.
