July 24, 20223 yr Community Expert parent transid verify failed on 180224 wanted 4989515 found 4989510 This error is fatal with btrfs, it means some writes were lost due to write barriers not being respected, most times a controller/device firmware issue, you'll need to re-format but can try the btrfs restore option here, though it doesn't always work 100% with this error.
May 19, 20233 yr Author @JorgeB Sorry, I didn't get a chance to work on it since then. If I have to reformat, could you please guide me through the necessary steps to ensure that my data remains intact? Additionally, I'm interested in transitioning to a new system equipped with a different CPU and motherboard. What step should I follow?
May 19, 20233 yr Community Expert I linked the recovery options above, best bet is trying btrfs restore.
October 7, 20232 yr Author @JorgeB My unmountable drive is cache. What disk ID do I use for BTRFS restore? btrfs restore -v /dev/md? /mnt/disk2/restore
October 8, 20232 yr Community Expert The cache device ID plus 1 for the partition, in this case /dev/sde1
