Just wondering if anyone can recommend a motherboard/processor combo for an esxi whitebox server that will do vmdirectpath?  Also has to use ddr3 non-ecc memory.  Trying to stay around $350-$400.

You will have to stick with AMD AM3 processors and 890FX motherboards, like Asus Crosshair IV. I don't see why not go with e.g. Supermicro X9SCM-F and a E3 Xeon processor, ECC unbuffered memory are just a few bucks more expensive, but you will have server class hardware.

I was looking at that board, looks cool. I already have 16 gig of non-ecc memory.  Could always try to sell it on ebay.
