Automatically zip/targz specific folder and upload to cloud?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am just starting to get into the NAS business and building my rig tomorrow, but I have a question, and I am not sure if unraid can help me solve this?

I would be running 2 HDDs in mirrored mode, but on here I will have a couple of folders that I would like to make additional offsite backups of on a weekly basis, I was thinking if I would be able to archive certain folders into a zip/targz (with a password) and then upload these to a google drive for example could be a nice addition to keep the most important stuff stored safely in another location (incase of a fire or break in etc)?

Is this at all possible? Or do you have any other solutions/ideas on how I could implement something like this? The password archive would be a nice addition for me to make sure the files inside the drive would not be up for grabs due to a backdoor or some kind of leak.

Kind regards,
Alex
