Unraid question for IOMMU and Minecraft server setup

Featured Replies

Hello, I am a new user to unraid so sorry if I am asking this kind of question here.

I basically wanted to ask if I would need IOMMU to setup a minecraft server basically.
The current specs of the pc that would host unraid/minecraft server uses a AMD FX-8320 and the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3.
When I was in the bios, there was a virtualization option which I had already enabled, however I could not find any option for IOMMU. I assume that it simply does not support it, so my question is would I need IOMMU just to host the server and do the basic needs for it such as editing its settings/mods. It would not be used in anyway to play as I would use my actual pc for that of course, the point is just to have a server up 24/7 for my friends and I to have access to. Thank you all in advance for helping me with this question!

How do you plan to run the server ?

If it's in a Docker container, you should not have any issues with IOMMU.

Yeah we already do have it set up as a docker, I didn't know initially how it worked but after messing with it a bit, it was up and running! Thank you.
