July 30, 20223 yr Hi all, I'm new in unraid world. It's my first setup, my hardware is brand new. I've added 2 disks for parity, but the initial setup take way to long... Any idea why ? thx for your help Edited July 30, 20223 yr by N47H4N

What's the machine set up like?
July 30, 20223 yr Author Hi Kilrah, thx for your answer. Do you think the disk1 can have an impact on the parity sync ? my hardware is here: power/sata cable are new. I don't have others to test it for the moment. maybe I misconfigured my pcie card ?
July 30, 20223 yr Community Expert Looking at SMART that disk has some reallocated sectors and high read error rate, so it might be failing... 1 minute ago, N47H4N said: Do you think the disk1 can have an impact on the parity sync ? All drives need to be read in their entirety to build parity, so if one has issues and hangs for a while before reading each sector it definitely will be crawling. IMO that drive should not be put in the array, but backed up separately and replaced.
July 30, 20223 yr Author you are right ! thx ! it's way better now... it was that simple. sorry for the question and thx again !
