copying files from windows 7 to unraid

Hi I'm a noob.. I did a bit of searching but did not find an answer. I'm trying to copy files to my unraid server. I did an drag and drop. this is very slow. 3.7 mb/second. Should I use a telenet or ftp for better transer rates. I have giga network. My setup is as follows:

Intel atom D525 with 4 gig of ram, 1 2tb 7200 rpm parity and 5 2 tb wd green drives.

Thx for your help. If you can suggest a book to read I would appreaciate it.

You have some kind of a problem. It should be faster than that. I got 11MBps using 100Mbps networking. Typical with gigabit networking should be around 30MBps.

Unless you copying off a USB drive maybe?

Peter
