Hello there!

How are you?

Look, I install unraid a few days ago for first time on my device and before to buy the software.

I need a hand with your experience and knowledge about a few things, please.

1. It's possible to work with SSL effectively. Like when you open a web page with SSL working and securely. ?

If that is possible, how can I do it? Is there any tutorial step by step or someone can tell me how to do it, please?

2. Under the section of:  User Shares

I noticed the following directories appearing in orange color

app data

domains

system

And say some or all files unprotected.

Can I secure these directories? How can I do it? Is there any tutorial step by step or someone can tell me how to do it, please?

3. Under the section of:  User Shares

I create a share with a name, after in SMB Security Settings I chose “Private” and also try with “Secure”

Then in SMB User Access, I select my user and chose read and write.

But from my MAC and my PC. I can't enter to that share I create.

I try with smb://IP/Folder Share

smb://IP

smb://Name of my server /Folder Share

http://IP/Folder Share

http://IP

http://Name of my server /Folder Share.

But I can't log in. I can't enter to my folder share.

How can I do it? Is there any tutorial step by step or someone can tell me how to do it, please?

4. Under the section of: Virtual Machines

When I want to add a VM, for example select Windows o Linux

And in the part of OS Install ISO: I click there and nothing happen, don't show me anything. So, I try to drop there the image ISO from my desktop, but doesn't work.

How can I do it? Is there any tutorial step by step or someone can tell me how to do it, please?

Currently, that's all.

Thanks to all in advance.

Cheers.

1. Settings>Management Access>provision certificate will create a let’s encrypt ssl certificate.

2. You would need to use a cache pool raid. This is not a replacement for a good backup though.

Thanks for your answer. But you know in relation with my question number 1. I did that and also activate the SSL.

But my browser say the connection is insecure. How can I make it secure?

About my question number 2. I will watch the video and tell you later.

Finally, about my other questions. If you, or anybody else, can give me a hand.

I will be eternally grateful.

Thanks a bunch.

Cheers.

Are you using the lets encrypt address shown on the settings pane to connect to your server? It will be something like https://<server IP>.<multiple random alpha numeric digits>.myserver.net.

For number 3, what happens if you try to connect just to the IP without including the share name.

You should probably attach your diagnostics to your next post.
