Preclear und SMART Errors

Hallo,

 

bei einer Platte im Preclear bricht nachdem beim ersten Mal das Post Read failed war, failed es nun bereits beim Pre Read.

 

Interessanter Weiße war es die Platte die am Anfang gar keine SMART Error wie Current Pending Sectors oder RAW Read Errors hatte.

Ich vermute damit ist die hin?

Zieh erstmal ein Backup wichtiger Daten von der Disk. Dann boote mal neu und guck Dir die drei Werte (reallocated sector count, pending und event count) danach nochmals an. Nach dem Boot geht reallocated sector count wahrscheinlich hoch. Dann ist sie hin. Wenn sich an den Werten nichts ändert, dann gibt es evtl. keine Spares mehr. Das wäre auch schlecht.

Da nichts drauf ist, da ich noch in der Preclear Phase bin vor der Aufnahme ins Array, brauch ich kein Backup.

Aber kann es mit nem Reboot mal probieren.

Ich denke die Platte ist hin, auch wenn sie noch nicht entschieden hat, was sie mit den Current Pending Sectors machen soll. Aber selbst wenn die diese aufgibt und stattdessen Ersatzsektoren verwendet. Wer weiß wie lange die dann noch lebt.

 

Vermutlich würde sie Platte die Entscheidung endgültig treffen, wenn du einen erweiterten SMART Test machst. Mach den mal bitte.

Also jetzt bleibt denke ich nur noch mit Windows und dem Original Diagnostic Tool von WD zu testen. Wenn es da die selben Probleme gibt, dann ab in den Müll damit.

Der Quick Test von denen sagt to many Bad Sectors und bricht währenddes Runs ab.

Damit scheint sie es wohl hinter sich zu haben.

Aber schon interessant das eine vorher mit keiner Warnung/SMART Error sich so schnell mit diesem Fehlerbild dazu entscheidet zu sterben.

 

Aber dann muss ich wohl ne andere Platte als Parity wählen und damit das Array einrichten.

Hallo zusammen,

ich habe ein ähnliches Problem mit meiner Parity-HDD.

Gestern habe ich den Mover von Hand angestoßen, ein paar Sekunden später erhielt ich eine Smart Warnmeldung nach der anderen.

Der Current pending sector ist auf 418 hochgeschossen. Die HDD ist gerade einmal 8 Monate alt.

Ist die Platte hinüber?

Alle diese "*reallocated" Werte sind Ausdruck, dass etwas nicht in Ordnung ist. Gerade bei einer so kurzen Lebenszeit würde ich persönlich diese Platte zurückgeben.

 

Dieser Wert kann sich bei späteren erfolgreichen Zugriffen wieder reduzieren. Die Erfahrung zeigt aber, dass diese Werte später zu "Reallocated_Sector_Ct" werden. Und sobald bei mir dort eine 1 steht, fange ich schon an diese Platte genau zu beäugen.

 

Was Du tun kannst:

 

1.) Hast Du eine gleichgroße Platte vorliegen, dann tausche

2.) Wenn Du keine gleichgroße Platte hast, und Du Deine wichtigen Daten gesichert hast, dann kannst Du nach einem Reboot nochmal einen Parity-Check durchführen. Im glücklichen Fall reduziert sich der Wert, im schlechten Fall wird er umgewandelt zu "Reallocated_Sector_Ct"

Ich habe noch eine identische HDD, die ist allerdings meine Backup-HDD. Die würde ich ungern opfern.

Der Parity-Check läuft seit ca. 14 Std. und ich habe schon die ersten Meldungen mit Errors und dass der Current pending sector wieder auf 0 steht erhalten, siehe Bild.

Hä, smartctl hat doch eine makellose Festplatte gezeigt. Wie passt das zeitlich? Von wann sind die Errors und von wann smartctl.

 

Ich würde das ganze mal im Maintenance Mode durchführen - ohne zusätzliche Plugins oder Befehle im go Skript.

Als Test würde ich mal einen "Non-correcting" parity check machen (also Checkbox bei "Write corrections to parity" leer lassen). Damit wird garantiert alles gelesen aber nichts geschrieben. Den kann man jederzeit abbrechen. Danach weißt Du ob Fehler existieren und wenn ja wie viele. Anschließend kannst Du entscheiden wie Du weiter vorgehst.

Guten Abend zusammen und danke für eure Hilfe. 👍

 

Als Nächstes werde ich Folgendes versuchen;

  1. Powertop in der /boot/config/go auskommentieren
  2. reboot
  3. Write corrections to parity deaktivieren
  4. Parity-Check läuft bereits (der letzte Check wurde vor 30 Min. beendet und ergab keine Fehler etc.)
