Cache Drive Setup

Featured Replies

This was the default configuration for my 1 TB cache drive.  I can't seem to find references on how to setup the mover schedule.  The info that is in the field makes zero sense to me.

Beside time of day, could it also start when it reaches a certain capacity?

Cache

Min. free space: 2000000

Mover schedule: 40 3***

Mover logging: Enabled

The fields are: minute - hour - day of month - month - day of week

Use only numbers for the fields.

Use * if you aren't specifying a number for that field.

Put a space between each field

The default schedule is 3:40 every day.

I don't know any way to do it based on space used. I suppose you could write a script that runs fairly regularily which checks disk space used and then kicks off the mover.

Thanks!

At least now I can understand what I a m looking at.  It moves files at 3:40 PM every day.  I take it that this does not operate on a 24 hour clock.  How can I specify AM or PM?

It does work on a 24 hour clock.  To specify 11PM you would use instead "23"

3:40 every day is 3:40 AM.

15:40 every day would be 3:40 PM.

I'm not sure exactly why 3:40 AM was picked as the default as opposed to say just 2 AM or 3 AM but that's just what it is.
