Adding more Drives

Featured Replies

I have a Dell R620 that came with a H710P card, I've flashed it to It mode and it's working without issue. I got a H310 card flashed it to IT mode and it's not being seen in the Dell system at all. I tried it in a second system, and it works without issues. I have tried other PCIe cards in the R620 and none of them show up in UNRAID. Slots are enabled in the BIOS.

At this point, I am just wanting to know how I can add more drives without using the other PCIe slots as they don't seem to work.

Have you tried moving the 710 to a different slot?

Yes. I installed the H310 in the same PCIe slot as the H710P and the H310 worked, but the H710P did not show up in a second PCIe slot. I am not sure if the PCIe slots are bad, or there is a BIOS setting or similar. But it seems really annoying to track down as the server takes ~3-5 minutes to fully boot in to UNRAID.

I am hoping for something to give more SATA connectors with the single slot the H710P is currently in. If there is a card that can expand the SAS ports I already have or a card with more ports, I am down to buy one.
