including/excluding drives on existing shares

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

So I've had unraid for many years and never really utilized this until I saw spaceinvader's video on limiting shares to specific disks so that other drives can stay spun down..

I have a question though. I already have data on the share. If I change that share now to "include disk 14" does that mean that all data written to the share from this point forward will be going to that disk? Or is it going to screw things up with existing files for that share that have already been spread across different drives?

That change will only affect new files for the share.   Existing files will be left where they are and still show up when trying to read from the share.
