August 22, 20223 yr Hey there! I am new to unraid and disk management. I have been reading up online on how to set up a parity as well as cached system, but could not find a concrete and comprehensive article about this. My setup consists of the following: 500 GB SSD 8 TB HDD 4 TB HDD 2 TB HDD How do I partition these drives up in the array? Once again, I am quite new to this, but most terms don't have to be simplified. I am using the server for devops and media storage. Thanks in advance!
August 22, 20223 yr Community Expert 8TB must be parity (if you want parity) since parity has to be at least as large as the largest data drive. SSD as cache pool, not in array.
