/var/log getting full - not sure why

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Once or twice a month, my logs get filled and I'm not sure why. I usually need to reboot which solves it temporarily. I would like to understand what is causing the issue and try to resolve it.

Any help would be appreciated. Diagnostics file attached.

Thanks in advance!

That's unusual. We often see corrupt docker.img when it gets filled. You seem to have corrupt libvirt.img, which normally doesn't fill, and it isn't full.

Have you done memtest recently?

df says loop2 is libvirt, but errors are logged immediately after mounting docker as loop2.

I don't actually see libvirt getting mounted in syslog, don't know why the discrepancy from df

Maybe all that happened after log space full?

Wonder why OP didn't say anything about dockers not working?

Likely loop2 is now libvirt, but at boot time it shows the docker image issues.

I didn't notice docker not working. It only stopped working once.

Edit: adding more info.

I have not.

Docker image is corrupt, delete and recreate.

Should I do this or wait for your inquiry about libvirt?
