opentoe
I bet a lot of users on these forums have SHUCKED some drives. I know I have when HD manufactures were greedy trying to inflate their stock price on PROJECTED sales. Anyway it seems all reversed. Now you can get an 18TB internal drive (I usually go for HGST HC550) for less than the WD external. Like the Elements or My Book. The internals are hanging around $300 and the externals are around $340-$350. Oh no, our big secret is out of the box! I do see a couple weird listings on the drive I usually buy. This one is $299. And this one is the same drive but at $30 more. They also each have difference SKUS, so the vendor is doing something sneaky. Their ASIN's are different as well. Same make/model/specs, maybe it is just a different version and the changes are not publicized. Both advertise 5 year warranty as well. Edited August 25, 2022 by opentoe Quote Link to comment
