[6.11.0 RC4] Unraid won't boot up, after update from RC3

Hi,

today i updated from RC3 to RC4 and my Server won't boot.

It crashes at this point:

When i reach "/user/sbin/winblindd -D" the Cursor stops flashing and i cant ping my Server immediately. So i think the Server crashes and i can't download a diagnostic.

Booting into Safemode works and i attaced a Diagnostic (1_unraid-1-diagnostics-20220827-0916.zip).

But even shutdowns/reboots makes problems at this point:

Again the Cursor stops flashing here.

I tried another USB Drive with a Unraid Test Version with RC4 and it boots and shutdown without problems.

Diagnostic is 2_tower-test-diagnostics-20220827-1011.zip

Also a Diagnostic ( 3_unraid-1-diagnostics-20220827-1051.zip ) from my running RC3.

This suggests a plugin problem, remove all plugins and than add one by one.

Doesnt look like.

i removed and added plugins the last 4 hours... @ich777 gived me a hint deleting the vfio.conf

all plugin added with vfio.conf -> crash

removed all plugins with vfio.conf -> run ... BUT if i open the "system device" page -> crash

all plugins added without vfio.conf -> run

when i create i new vfio binding and reboot, the system will crash with plugins, or if i removed plugins before it will crash, when i open the "system device" page.

will that help you?

Do you see the same issues with the system devices page if you bound the same devices?

Yes.

Also, when i try creating a Diagnostic the Sever will crash/freeze.

Are there any changes in RC5 affected tho this?

  • Community Expert

Not that I know of, but it's a newer kernel so it's worth trying.
