UNRAID WON'T BOOT + NVME M.2 (CACHE DRIVE) NOT SHOWN IN BIOS

Featured Replies

Dear All, please help!

1. Stopped the array

2. Turned off the server

3. Datached the NVME M.2 drive (used as cache) to install radiators

4. Attached the NVME drive back

5. Could not boot to unraid

After going into bios I realized that m.2 drive is not shown in the SATA section anymore

Tried installing another NVME drive to the same port and it would not show up in BIOS as well (checked the port/drive health)

If you go to BIOS Tools, the initial NVME (cache drive) is not shown in the HDD/SDD Smart Information settings, but is shown in ASUS Secure Erase tool at the same time.

Please kindly advice for any potential solution, many thanks in advance!

Hardware:

MB Asus ROG F450-F Gaming

CPU AMD Athlon 200GE

NVME Crucial CT500P2SSD8

P.S.

Will I lose all my HDD data if Parity was ok at the moment it all happened?

Fist you need to fix the Unraid boot problem, photo shows USB disconnects, try a different USB port, ideally USB 2.0, if that doesn't help try a different flash drive.

Tried every USB port available. Ended up re-mounting unraid os from backup to the same USB. All works now! Many thanks! I believe I should change the flash in the future.
