June 11, 201115 yr TRENDnet TEG-S16DG 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch 16 x RJ45 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833156293 $79.99 w/ Free Shipping Expires 6/15/2011 I have one of these switches and it works great.
June 11, 201115 yr The 8-port version is often $25 at Newegg in case you don't need 16 ports, or if you don't mind daisy chaining two together.
June 11, 201115 yr Author Daisy chaining two 8 port switches results in only 14 usable ports (one port from each switch is used to connect the switches).
June 12, 201115 yr Was as low as $20 this past week. You must be thinking of the 5-port version, as the 8-port version has never been $20 as far as I know.
June 12, 201115 yr You know, I thought that too, then someone linked to the 8 port on Newegg, and I think it was down to $20...but now I can't remember if that's correct since they're back to normal. Anyways, $25 x 3 = $75, so still cheaper than the 16 port for for 21 ports. But most people probably don't want to have 3 of these things stacked, taking up 3 power adapters.

Agreed, I'd rather have a single 16-port switch instead of a chain of 8-port switches. FWIW, the Newegg Tracker shows its low of $24.99, but that doesn't take into account coupons. $25 is the lowest I've seen it, and I've been watching it for several months.

If I recall, the 8-port they linked to was for 10/100 switch, not 10/100/1000 switch
