September 6, 20223 yr Hi I am new to unraid and I saw some tutorials on how to set it up. I haven't installed unraid yet so I can't test this myself. I have 2x 1 TB nvme ssds. I would like to partition them so I have 2x 500gb partitions on each ssd. I would like to create caches like so: Example 1: cache_1: disk1a (500 Gb) + disk2a (500 Gb) = 500Gb useable cache cache_2: disk1b (500 Gb) = 500Gb useable cache cache_3: disk2b (500 Gb) = 500Gb useable cache In this example cache_1 would have important data that needs to be recoverable. cache_2 and cache_3 don't have important data and I am ok with losing it because I will probably use some backup tool to backup these files nightly. Example_2: cache_1: disk1a (500 Gb) + disk2a (500 Gb) = 500Gb useable cache cache_2: disk1b (500 Gb) + disk2b (500 Gb) = 500Gb useable cache In this example cache_1 and cache_2 would be able to recover from a cache. I might use this setup so that I can assign specific shares into a specific cache. I don't want a single 1 TB cache. Edited September 6, 20223 yr by surelyHungry
