Silicon Image port multipliers with Marvell AHCI ( e.g. 88SE9123 ) any luck?

I have a few Lycom PE-115 Marvell 88SE9123 adaptors, and have been having trouble getting them working with Silicon Image 3726 port multipliers, I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with any other Marvell AHCI cards?
