Share pass-through to HA vm

HI!

I’m trying to passthough an unraid media share to a HA vm running in unraid but with no sucess. It doesn’t seem to be able to see the share that I’ve filled when setting up the vm…

I was trying to avoid to clunky ways to manual mount a remote share until an official streamlined way to do ot gets relased.

Has anyone managed to do it?

Guys? =(

This is the help text did you look at the link?

Unraid Share
Used to create a VirtFS mapping to a Linux-based guest. Specify the path on the host here.

Unraid Mount tag
Specify the mount tag that you will use for mounting the VirtFS share inside the VM. See this page for how to do this on a Linux-based guest: http://wiki.qemu.org/Documentation/9psetup

Additional devices can be added/removed by clicking the symbols to the left.

I've been through some threads and also the one you posted but it seems to be out of my league.

I did point to the share in "Unraid Share" camp and added a name on "Unraid Mount Tag" but the home assistatant vm doesn't seem to be able to see the share.

You need to have mount point in the vm this is a directory to mount the unraid path.

Then run mount -t 9p -o trans=virtio [mount tag] [mount point] it does not automatically mount in the vm.

Unfortunately Home Assistant OS installation type does not support mounting shares out of the box, there is a workaround to do it, you can read about it here:

https://community.home-assistant.io/t/mount-remote-smb-share-on-hassio/116734/101

Note that the other way is very simple, HA creates few shares which you can access from Unraid by simply installing the Samba share addon:
