Unraid died

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Ich have an Unraid Server running using 13 disks and two SSDs as cache. About a month ago I replaced the cache drives by bigger one, which at first seemed to have worked. However after the first reboot about a week ago it flagged the cache drives as missing, asking for the old ones. However everything seemed to be working fine so I wanted to address this later.

Today I wanted to add a new Docker container so I tried to open the Webtty which always closed itself after a few seconds. Then I noticed that all of the status pages of Unraid were either empty or loading indefinitly. (See screenshots) But then still the array was working fine so I decided to try a reboot, assuming that only the Webgui has crashed. Now I cannot start the array anymore or do anything else via the Webgui.

I'm using Unraid 6.10.3 and already tried to reinstall it on a new flashdrive and copy my /config folder (excluding the plugins) over to the new flashdrive but the behavior is the same. I don't have a screenshot on how the drives were configured unfortunately. Is there any other way to recover this information?

Please Help me getting my data back!

Greets, Philipp

It works again. What I did was: I reinstalled Unraid on a new flashdrive. Then I added all disks as data disks and startet the array. Those Disks that wouldn't start, I identified as parity disks and noted their serial number. Then I again wiped the flashdrive completely and reinstalled Unraid. Afterwards I added the data and parity disks as well as the cache drives correctly and startet the array. A rebuild startet and I think my data is still there. Then I started to reconfigure all of the other setting such as docker, shares and caching policies.
