WhitepawRolls
Hello. I currently am using Open Media Vault for my home nas and looking to migrate to Unraid. My question is I already have 2 existing mirror raids (2x2tb-2x6tb) formatted with ext4. Would I just be able to plug in the Unraid boot usb, and it see the existing raids without data loss, or would I have to copy everything off, reformat, and copy back? Thank you. Quote Link to comment

Ok I'll have to wait t get unraid till I can get an external drive big enough to backup the current server too then. Thank you again. Quote Link to comment
trurl
You should always have backups anyway. Parity is not a substitute 1 Quote Link to comment

Parity is not a substitute I do what's within my budget friend. if I could afford GOOD backups I'd be following the 3's rule (3 forms of backup) Quote Link to comment

kizer
You could install unraid on a USB and then use unassigned.devices to copy your data on to a new disk in the array. Quote Link to comment
