Unraid OS version 6.11.0 available

24+ hrs after update without issues.

@TexasUnraid Zoggy posted the commands in this tread for you to see what packets you have running from NP and which ones are installed in unraid. I was running NP before upgrading and then found out I didn't needed any packets. Just run those commands, save the list, then uninstall NP before upgrading. If you have issues with anything you try to run, you can check the list of running packets on unraid vs what you had before to know what is missing and an idea on what packet to install.

for what you were installing with nerdpack, look for what you had set to yes in it's cfg (even if nerdpack is disabled):

grep yes /boot/config/plugins/NerdPack/NerdPack.cfg

for what is installed currently in unraid:

ls -lah /var/lib/pkgtools/packages/

Hi, thank you for the code. I got just one result (for grep.... thing):

perl-5_32_0="yes"

How do I find out where is this package component used, and if I really need it?

Does 6.11.0. have native support for it?

(I don't remember why I installed it, but it must have been from SpaceinvaderOne videos...maybe for settig up VM (and I don't use VMs any longer)

Thank you in advance.

Had to rollback to 6.10.3 due to the EDID block 0 issue spamming my syslog, and like another user I see that I cannot get the SSD trim plugin to reinstall (it said it installed via CA, but it does not display under plugins and there is nothing visible under settings).

Any thoughts? Posting in this thread since it appears to be a byproduct of the downgrade from 6.11.0. Thanks!

I still can only access SMB shares when I set them to Security=Secure. If I set it to Security=Private I can't access them anymore.

With 6.10.3 there was no issue with this setting. In SMB Settings Netbios is activated. Added min protocol = SMB2 to Samba Extra Configuration.

Any idea what I have to change to move back to Security=Private?

Update : Found the next issue. With this setting I have read rights but no write rights... My User is set to read/write. Windows message :
You need permissions to perform the operation. You must get the required permissions from "UNRAID-SERVER\nobody" to make changes to this file

So I have to switch back to "Private"

Not a big issue/ probably not an issue at all but just some unexpected behaviour...

Prior to the update my browser shortcut to my server (https://xxx.xxx.x.xx) would always re direct me to the long url assigned when generating the SSL cert and now it does not. Connecting using my shortcut no longer uses the secure cert and shows up as unsecure in my browser and i also get the security alert prior to connecting. Is this normal behaviour since the update? I am coming from 6.9.3. According to my Management Access tab https://xxx.xxx.x.x/ should use the cert as should https://xxxxx.local:xxx/ and finally the long url. Long URL uses the cert just fine (and i have no problem just using this in future) but i'm just curious is this normal behaviour?

Open up the Credential Manager and delete all of the Windows Credentials associated with your server.  Then download the PDF file in the first post of this thread:

Set up a login to your Unraid server for the user that you created on the user using the instructions in the section called "Setting Up the Unraid Server and the Windows 10 Client".

Actually i just see which packages are installed, but i dont see who need this packages really.

When you don't know that why should it break something...?

The installation from packages through the Nerd Pack where initiated by the user (in this case you).

The packages installed through Nerd Pack are NOT needed to run Unraid itself and they are installed usually because a user needs to run some kind of custom script(s) or whatever.

EDIT: It would be also good to share with us what packages are installed or at least your Diagnostics.

But this will fix only the issues from Windows. And I have at least 6 PCs here (wife, children...) + Android Mobiles + Raspberry etc. There must be a way to change something on Unraid server side. With 6.10.3 there was no issue...

This problem is going to be difficult to handle in this thread.  I have one more suggestion:

Try setting the shares to    'Public'    and see if that works.  I suspect that your devices are being logged onto the server with guest account privileges.

IF that does not solve the problem, create a thread in the General Support section of the forum.

Everybody please understand this is not intended as a Tech Support thread. Nothing wrong with indicating you have a problem because of the install that will alert others they might as well. However please create a new topic in the General section so it can be looked at better and trouble shot more appropriately.

This is literally the only time when we encourage cross posting. 😁

SSL support was enhanced for greater security during the 6.10 series.

Official certificates are now only used on the urls they are valid for. Urls such as https://tower.local use a self-signed cert because there are no official certificates valid for that url.

See this to change how redirects work:

Hi everyone, just upgraded.  It has unfortunately murdered my Plex App(docker), which at first would not start but now has disappeared. The files are still in the app data folder but the image has disappeared from the 'Apps'.

Looking at Nvidia, that is not working on this kernel and there is no update available, which is probably why my Plex has died.?

Any way to get Plex back with existing configuration please, and any idea on Nvidia update if that is ok to ask here please?

Or is there a way to downgrade?
