upgraded to 6.11.0 on 3 machines and no gui on the local machines, 

gui works from remote.

What do you mean by no GUI?  Just a black screen with a flashing cursor?  Try installing the GPU-TOP plugin

local screen works, shows everything as it boots, but then at the end where it usually show the login screen, its black, no cursor

gui finnally popped up but resolution is garbage

this on the Dell R610, no GPU installed,

using built in VGA on 19" monitor.

gui was working normally before update

 

other 2 server still no GUI (R510 & R610)

If they use a Matrox GPU it's a known issue, a driver will be included on the next release, hopefully it helps.

Yep, 6.11.1 which is expected soon *should* fix that.

The driver has been added and fixed the issue for most, though possibly some Matrox GPUs don't use or like the driver.

Probably switching to the Nvidia card as a primary display, my R730 started doing the same after added Nvidia drivers.

That's a good point, the Nvidia GPU my be the problem, since the driver for the Matrox appears to be loading correctly.
