Hi, I'm a newbie with a problem creating the zip file for the flash drive backup.  Instead of the file being downloaded it shows as a link in a new 404 browser window.  Also, I haven't been able to get the online backup to work either (usual, reported "try again later" message.

Any idea on how to get it to work locally, would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

Not sure what this is about, any ideas @Squid @bonienl?

Hi again,  I decided to pull my flash drive and copy its contents to a folder (especially the config file) just in case.  But I discovered that nearly all the file names on the drive are gibberish.  Now, I've only seen this happen with a corrupted drive.  So this may very well be the problem.  Unraid flash routine can't read the gibberish files. Although enough must be readable, like the config file for Unraid to boot.  What is your advice and can you suggest a good drive to purchase?  I used the best drive I had which is a 64GB Samsung.

Also, I understand that if I replace the config file with my current one on the new drive that most things will continue working.

Thanks for your help and advice!

OK,  I decided to reinstall Unraid onto the same flash drive (so the id wouldn't have changed).  After a couple of failed attempts and watching a youtube video I tried again.  Still no go, just a blank drive.  I did it again, but this time when it got stuck I just change the USB drive name to UNRAID and it took off and finished.  Upon examination, no gibberish!  I copied my config file to the drive, put it in the server and now all is well.  I was able to create a local backup as well as one on the Unraid site.

I guess the creator needs a little work, or it's just my computer.  In any case, all is well.  Drives and shares Dockers, etc all good.

Thanks for your help!  You kind of led me into figuring something was wrong the the USB drive!
