Adding drive and highwater setting

Featured Replies

I only have one drive right now (and 1 parity) but I set a few of my folders span drives knowing I would be adding another drive soon. Once I add another data disk will it move the data currently on the solo disk so that is now meets the 50% requirement of the highwater setting? Or will it keep all the data on that disk and just use the new one from now on until it fills up 50%?

And on a completely different topic, why does it take windows so long to see the unraid server for the first time when I boot up the windows machine? Is there a way to have that connection done on bootup rather then waiting for the user to try to access the server before it connects?

No data will move. Settings only affect writes. Try mapping the drive.
