January 19, 200818 yr Hey, guys! What does everyone think of this case: CoolerMaster STC-T01-UWK I've read multiple posts on this site that a lot of people here go with CM, but there are so many CM cases I was wondering if this is a good one for an unraid build? Specifically will this thing be good to eventually sport three 5-in-3 cage/backplanes for SATA drives? On some of the pics it looks like a few of the drive slots are taken by CM 4-in-3, is this removable? Thanks in advance, all help is greatly appreciated! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119039&ATT=11-119-039&CMP=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r&nm_mc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r&cm_mmc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r-_-Cases+(Computer+Cases+-+ATX+Form)-_-Cooler+Master-_-11119039
January 19, 200818 yr "lewis" has this case (according to search), so you may want to try a PM. Otherwise, I would stick with case reviews as they will often point out insanely stupid design problems, like PSUs that don't fit, cards that don't fit, bad wire routing, fans that get blocked, overall cheap build quality, etc. You just can't see those things from pictures, you need to play with a case to see the flaws. January 22, 200818 yr This is a great case, i have one for my unraid server. I took out the drive cage and the power switch panel at the front and fitted 4 4-in-3 cages for a total of 16 drives. Case is really roomy and easy to work with.
January 30, 200818 yr i had one of those cases, and 3 of the 4-in-3 units. i sold it though, i wanted smaller 4 or 5 disk type NAS units. it was a decent box though, although annoying if you ever needed to replace broken drives
