October 16, 20223 yr Hi, After reading some posts about this topic I could not find anything specific for a 5900x. I want to assign 8 cores to a vm. Just curious if anyone has done this before and can share with me his experience. This are the core pairs: I guess they are paired like this because they are the SMT pairs, right? After further reading I found this: "The 12-core Ryzen 9 5900X and 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X are parts that have two 8-core CCDs besides the cIOD. The 5900X is carved out by disabling any two cores per CCD"... Can I assume that 1 CCD has cores 0-11 and the second CCD has 12-23? Rgds
October 19, 20223 yr You can use LStopo to find out the correct cores and cache topology of your CPU. Spaceinvader1 made a video about it! I happen to have a 5950x running so i can tell you that for me the correct pair are Die 1: 0-7(HT16-23) Die 2: 8-15 (HT24-31)
