It has an Atheros NIC, do not buy this board.

but uhm, apparently, ATHEROS drivers are now included with unRAID...

 

thats why i was asking....

 

and i believe i saw a user in here that says he's using the same motherboard for his unRAID array...

If someone is using the board without issue then go for it.  Most all boards with atheros NIC's are avoided around these parts.  Those NIC's in particular have never been reliable.

Get an Intel one if you need to buy a PCI NIC card.

why INTEL?

 

i just talked with a friend of mine who uses 3 of those Netgear NIC's

for his unRAID servers and they have been flawless to him!

Intel NICs have proven themselves to be the most stable and reliable NICs in an unRAID environment.  If your friend can vouch for the Netgear, then go for it.
