md5deep dependencies in unMenu

Featured Replies

Th md5deep package in unMenu incorrectly states that, "Once compiled, these compiler package is no longer a dependency, so it need not be re-installed on re-boot." The gcc package is required for reinstall on reboot. Does anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks,

David

You are right... and the first to report it.

The solution is to change the package's .conf file.

I won't have time to do it this weekend, put perhaps next week.

in the short term, after it is compiled, add a line at the end of your "config/go" script to copy it to a spot in your path when you reboot

cp /boot/packages/md5deep/md5deep/md5deep /usr/local/bin/md5deep; chmod +x /usr/local/bin/md5deep

I updated the conf file. The new version is attached. The package includes both md5deep and hashdeep executables which I have included. Hashdeep includes a very useful audit function.
