Writing files to disk whilst parity check is happening?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

As the title suggest really, would this cause any issue or delays in the parity check completing? Currently building my array and parity is going to take 18hrs apparently so wondering if i should just leave it for today before installing dockers, coping files etc.

Thanks!

Installing dockers is fine, copying files I would avoid if possible.

Accessing the array while a parity check/sync is running will cause contention and slow down both the parity check and array access while they are running in parallel.   Ideally you want to avoid (or at least minimise) any array access while a parity check/sync is running.
