Verliere andauernd Verbindung zum Server + Videos über Plex ruckeln stark

Hallo zusammen,

 

ich verzweifle langsam und hoffe, dass ihr mir vielleicht helfen könnt. Denn irgendwas stimmt ganz und gar nicht mit meinem Server. Ich habe vor allem zwei Probleme, die ich einfach nicht gelöst bekomme.

 

Problem 1: Der Server kackt ab. So ziemlich jeden Tag zu den unterschiedlichsten Zeiten. Er ist zwar noch eingeschaltet, doch ich kann ihn über kein anderes Gerät erreichen und alle Docker wie Plex & Nextcloud sind ebenfalls unerreichbar. Wenn ich den Rechner dann am Gerät selbst aus und einschalte, funktioniert wieder alles. Bis er wieder abkackt...

 

Problem 2: Videos über Plex ruckeln und verlieren Frames ohne Ende. Ich schaue (alles festverkabelt) über einen Apple TV 4K (2021) Medien über Plex und jahrelang war das gar kein Problem (Selbst 4K-Remuxes liefen ohne Probleme). Jetzt ruckeln vor allem kleinere 4K Videos und es droppen ordentlich frames. Manchmal hilft ein kurzes Neustarten des Videos, doch meistens bringt auch das nix.

 

Ich habe am Server nichts verändert und alles läuft wie eh und je. Das einzige was ich vor ein paar Wochen verändert habe, ist der Cache. Ich hatte einen gespiegelten BTRFS-Pool mit 2 NVMes. Allerdings hat das nur Probleme gemacht. Jetzt habe ich einen Cache als XFS und vorher Plex komplett neu aufgesetzt.

 

Vielleicht hat ja jemand von euch eine Idee oder einen Vorschlag, was ich ausprobieren könnte. Meine Diagnostics habe ich angehangen.

Alle Logs seit dem Reboot vor dem Crash (wenn seitdem nur 1x neugestartet wurde):

Ist das wirklich der erste Kernel Fehler nachdem der Server gestartet wurde?

 

Wie du siehst ist davor nämlich noch der:

Nutzt dein Plex Container eine RAM Limitierung? Erweiterte Ansicht bei Docker öffnen und die RAM Auslastung von Plex prüfen. Maximum ist da entsprechend deines Gesamt RAMs oder weniger?

 

Nutzt du bei Plex eine RAM Disk für Transcoding?

 

Ist dein RAM in Ordnung? Meintest machen! Auch mal jedes Modul im Betrieb einzeln verwenden, wenn memtest keine Fehler gefunden hat.

Ne, RAM ist beim Abspielen von Medien kaum ausgelastet. Und Transcoding wird auf dem Cache ausgeführt.

 

Ich hab jetzt mal MemTest laufen lassen... leider verstehe ich nicht viel, aber gut sieht das nicht aus :D

Das ist eine leichte Untertreibung.

 

1608 Fehler werden angezeigt.

 

Du hast rund 64GB Ram drin. Das sind vermutlich mehrere Module.

 

Systrem stromfrei schalten (Stecker ziehen), alle bis auf ein Ram Modul ausbauen und dann wieder einschalten und neu testen.

Das Ganze machst Du mit jedem Modul und verzeichnest, bei welchem Modul Fehler auftauchen.

 

Sollten keine Fehler auftauchen ist das Problem im zusammenspiel mehrere Module zu suchen oder im verwendeten Steckplatz.

 

Um die Module im Zusammenspiel zu testen:

Also das Ganze immer mit 2 Modulen, etc...

 

Um die Steckplätze zu testen:

ein als bisher fehlerfrei getestetes Modul in allen RAM Steckplätzen jeweils einzeln testen.

 

Und da man jeden Test bis zum Fehler oder mindestens 24h laufen lassen sollte: Viel Spass. Jetzt weisst Du, was Du die naechste Woche machen kannst. :)

Es ist echt verrückt :D... es sind tatsächlich 4 Module und jeder einzelne weist Fehler auf! 3 Stück haben direkt zu Beginn des Tests hunderte Fehler und ein Riegel hat nur wenige.

 

Austauschen sollte ich trotzdem alle, richtig? Ich habe einzeln getestet immer im Slot A1. Gottseidank gibt es ne "lebenslange" Garantie von G.Skill. Doch wie kann es denn sein, dass der Ram so kaputt geht?

Bemerkenswert.

Laut Foto geht es um ein System mit einem I9-10850k mit 64GBRam.

Laut der Diagnostic sind es G.Skill F4-3600C16-16GTZNC 16GB, doch wenn ich die Type bei geizhals suche sind es Trident Z Neo DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-3600, CL16-19-19-39 (Kit zu je 2*8GB Ram). Irgendwie scheint ich da bei Geizhals etwas falsches zu finden.

Das MainBoard scheint ein ASUS ROG Maximus XII Hero [WI-FI] (90MB12R0-M0EAY0) zu sein.

 

In der MemorySupportliste des Mainboards sind die sehr ähnlich klingenden GSkill F4-3200C16S-16GTZKW gelistet. Deine Speichertype wird da nicht genannt.

 

Ich würde erst einmal versuchen die Speicher so konservativ niedrig zu takten/einstellen wie möglich um zu sehen, ob die Probleme auch da schon bestehen bleiben.

Wenn die speichermodule inkompatibel oder defelt sind: ja.

Aber das muß man ja erst einmal herausfinden.

Nur, weil memtest da Fehler anzeigt, bedeutet ja nicht, daß die Module defekt sind.

Es kann auch das Mainboard oder die CPU oder eben nur eine Inkompatibilität sein.

Dan teste mal in anderen Slots. Vielleicht ist der Slot auch hinüber.

Man kan auch beim Einbauen so einiges falsch machen.

So, jetzt habe ich alle Module durchgetestet und tatsächliche haben 3 RAM-Riegel auf allen Steckplätze dutzende Fehler. Lediglich einer bleibt fehlerlos und erstmal im System. Die Fehler treten auf, egal wie niedrig der RAM getaktet ist. 

 

Die Probleme mit Unraid haben sich allerdings nicht gelöst. Weiterhin verliere ich die Verbindung und weiß nicht warum. Und besonders nervig. 4K-Filme und Serien fangen irgendwann an zu ruckeln und müssen immer neugestartet werden.

Ich konnte keine Inkompatibilität mit dem Arbeitsspeicher feststellen.
