Kernel Panic! Wadesda?

Featured Replies

OK.

My unraid was sitting, doing nothing more than usual, reading an HD film on the multimedia player, but no write process.

I've made a successfull parity check this morning, because I have to upsize another HDD soon. See here another post.

But it's not the current problem.

Suddenly, nothing, media player stop, and on my computer the tower was not reachable anymore (browser/lan).

No ping anymore, no putty access...

On the console, only one message on the prompt :

Kernel panic - not syncing: CRED: put_cred_rcu() sees d18e9188 with usage -779185152

Tower is frozen, no way to have a syslog, no powerdown (alt-ctrl-del), so I have to power cycle. [i didn't try Alt-Fx, rrrrr]

Next it came back on, everything seems allright on the console.

On the browser main window however, four HDDs takes a lot of time to mount, with a lot of write operations on them (disk1-5600, disk2-5400, disk10-1500 and disk12-5400) and also on the parity disk-19600.

Of course, a bunch of obscure news messages on the syslog (attached).

Now the system is currently checking parity, without any issue until now (07%)

My whole system seems very stable, but I have recently upsize three disks from 1TB to 2TB, with some issues however.

Two questions, as usual :

- any chance to understand where the problem came from, and how to avoid it?

- are the datas currently ok? How may I sure? Have I to be worry about all this mess?

Thanks
