I think that even using a "cache only" share for the downloads is not working. My other share does not use the cache disk at all, but when my downloaded files are processed (renamed and moved to their final destination), they are moved to another folder on the cache drive. My main share now has an orange icon indicating that there are files on the cache drive waiting to be written, even though the share doesn't even use the cache drive. I think this is confusing and a bit buggy, regardless of it being an SMB issue or not (though why SMB has anything to do with moving files on a local disk, I don't know).
