Network dropouts

Featured Replies

Since I upgraded to 6.11 I've been getting push notifications from one of my docker apps about it losing networking, I didn't think much of it at the time. However, today, I got notifications at the same time Plex stopped working. I logged into the server at that point and although it logged in, it was very slow in giving any details on the main page. Then a few seconds later everything was fine.

The push notification time stamp is 12:00 exactly.

My router (UDM) says my network is fine, so I'm inclined to believe the problem is server side. How do I go about diagnosing what the cause is?

Specs:

Unraid 6.11.1

i5-11400

ASRock H570 Phantom Gaming 4

Using onboard ethernet: Intel I219-V

32GB(2x16GB) DDR4

There's an OOM error at that time.

I saw that, but I'm only at 56% RAM usage. Can you still get OOM at half RAM usage? I was monitoring the Plex dashboard at the time it happened, there were no spikes or anything, system usage stayed under 60% (according to the Plex RAM usage graph).

Yep, sometimes the problem is not enough contiguous RAM.

Is there a way to diagnose exactly what is causing the OOM so I can fix it? Obviously I'd like a software based solution, but if I need to buy more RAM, then that's fine too. I'm just not sure where to start.

It happened again at 1am, but there are no OOM entries in the log this time.

When is your Plex media scan set to kick off?

It's set to update when it detects file changes, I haven't made any changes recently and it's been working fine for a year or so. New diags attached.

There's nothing logged, no idea what it could be, you can try disabling plugins and/or containers one at a time to see if you can find something.
