HGTX
Hi all. I've been using an AMD Radeon WX7100 for a few years to passthrough to my Mac VMs. Around the end of summer I started getting screen glitches. Reseating the card in another slot seemed to fix that. Then it got to the point where I had to setup both VNC and passthrough on a VM to get it going--VNC would get me to the boot menu and once the OS kicked in I would get an image through the GPU. Now that seems to not work, and while Mac OS sees there's another card, there is minimal data in the system profiler and Adobe software doesn't see it. I've tried every combination of passthrough settings I can think of. Is it time to admit the card is dead? Is that information in the logs somewhere? Or is there a way to definitively test it? Any guidance would be helpful. Quote Link to comment

HGTX
Good point. I could pull the Nvidia card I use as the default graphics output and see how the AMD card behaves. Quote Link to comment
HGTX
So if I boot Unraid into CLI mode, I get an image out of the Radeon card. But if I boot into GUI mode, I lose the image as soon as GUI starts up. A second graphics card works as expected. I think it's safe to assume the Radeon card is faulty. Thanks for your feedback. HGTX
Just a quick follow up... a second Radeon card behaves exactly the same. My Nvidia Quadro P2000 works correctly. Quote Link to comment
