no local mouse arrow on VM over VNC

Featured Replies

I created a Windows 10 VM on my unraid server and passed a logitech usb receiver to it for mouse and keyboard . so far so good both devices work on the VM. I tested that.

I want to access or lets say "view" this VM by either using remotedesktop (does not work at all. seems local input is disabled when i use the windows rdp tool) or the built in vnc functionality of unraid.

When I use the VNC functionality I can not see the mouse arrow from that machine. I can click etc. but it is pretty much a guessing game where the mouse currently is.

My plan was that a 2nd person can sit at my desk and I use the 2nd monitor from my system to open up the VM in the vnc window. And the other person can use a separate mouse and keyboard to work on this machine.

Anyone got a solution for this?

I think I solved it. When you change the mousepointer size to at least size 4 in the windows VM suddenly it reappears.

Are there any VNC settings which could make the monitoring of the machine a little more smooth ?
Like more "fps" higher bitrate oder something like that. The complete machine feels a bit "laggy" inputwise.

Anyone got an idea how to improve the responsiveness of VNC that ?
