Hardware Upgrade Old Disks not Visible

Featured Replies

Put together a new pc to replace my aging Supermicro 2U server. When I transfer the flash, parity (10TB) and data (2x 8TB) drives to the new hardware, none of the drives show up. To verify, I installed some old 1TB drives using the same power and data cables and they 1TB drives showed up. I tried both the SATA connections on the MOBO and an LSI HBA (that was working when removed from the Supermicro) and neither worked.

I put all the drives back into the the old server, along with the flash and everything came up just fine.

I looked in BIOS and neither the 10TB nor the 8TB drives show but the old 1TB drives do.

I am at a loss and hoping someone has some ideas.

Are these shucked drives? If yes they might have the 3.3v issue, you can test by connecting one of them using a molex to sata adapter.
