ASA-70165H and UnRaid

Featured Replies

Hello! Local noob/bozo here. I'm trying to install/create an external disk shelf and I'm having some trouble. A little while back I bought both:

Two ASA-70165H

and a

Dell EB-2425.

Fast forward a few months and i'm still having issues getting this combination of hardware to function. I can't figure out how to get unraid to see/use it, and Windows can only see that it's a SAS controller. (Installing the windows 8 drivers results in a crash)

I did find the Ubuntu 14 driver, but I want to have this hooked directly to UnRaid, not with VM passthroughs or an external machine. (I do have a pc that could be dedicated to running this, but i'd rather not)

Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm still only scratching the surface of the server/Linux iceberg...

Not familiar with those shelfs but post the diags to see if the HBA is being correctly detected, also make sure for now you only connect one cable from the HBA to the 1st module on the shelf.

Update: It was just an ID-10T error. The ethernet cable was bad and I didn't think to check it until last night. Thanks and apologies
