Delete Key on MacOs Monterey will not work in vi

Featured Replies

Hi There.

I am having issues using the delete key in the vi text editor. I have read through some of the community posts but cannot get it to work.

I for instance will run vi /etc/fstab and it will allow me into the file but as soon as I use i to insert the delete key will not delete text.

A forum post here

mentioned that It could be to do with xterm-256color and to edit my .zshrc file. But I could not find this on the mac.

Could someone please help me. I am proficient on redhat linux but for some reason can't work this out.

Regards

Red
