How do I create desktop shortcuts to user share folders on my unRAID server?

Thread subject says it all...

Would like to be able to do this on my wife's Windows 7 laptop as well as my MacBook Pro

THANKS!

For windows 7, don't you just browse to the Tower, where you can see the folder shares and right click create shortcut?

Is that what you are after?

Heres how you map a drive in windows 7

http://www.itechtalk.com/thread3673.html

To create a short cut you simply "right mouse" on any drive or location and drag it to your desktop. Then a popup will show up and use the create shortcut option.

Mac I'm not sure since I don't own a Mac

just to add

This software here: http://zornsoftware.talsit.info/blog/win7-library-tool.html

allows you to set your my documents,my video ,my pics to your unraid serverbox (by default you cant redirect my docs to unraid in windows 7 without it being indexed (and to index it, it has to be set offline)

in my case i have a 60GB SSD drive, and certainly didnt want my files to be offline (would have run out of disk space)

so now with he software installed, and configured, i click on my documents /videos/pictures off it goes to the unraid server.
