Upgrade to 5.0 Beta 7 Questions

Featured Replies

I just started setting up my server and used v4.7 before learning of the 3TB drive support included with the beta version.  Right now, two of my drives (3TB & 2TB) are getting ready to finish pre-clear.  I have no data on either disk and haven't even started an array.  Could I just upgrade my flash drive to the beta version and then create the array, or would I have to go through the pre-clear process again?

I have a 3rd 3TB drive I was going to add for parity after things were up and running and my data was transferred from the NAS.

just upgrade the flash drive to the 5.0beta7 version of unRAID.  (Or, wait a tiny bit, as 5.0beta8 is due out shortly, and it should fix a few of the known issues in 5.0beta7.)

I know this is an older thread, but I was looking to upgrade from 4.6 to the latest 5.0 beta 11.

When you say "just upgrade the flash drive to the 5.0beta7 version of unRAID"

Do you just have to clear all your current custom files off and then copy the ones you want back on, reinstalling the packages?

Or is there a better way to do it?

I would quite like to clear out a lot of stuff and tidy it up.
