Added drives to array however not used for existing shares

Featured Replies

Hi there,

still a bit of a newbee. I had just added 4 drives to my array. I had 6 drives already which are quite full, one drive of the the previous 6 drives had 77% of disc space used. So after I added 4 additional drives I added them to the array successfully, I then added these drives to these shares to be included, however when I started to copy over data to the share (configured as split level 1 and high water) it filled the drive with 77% instead of the 4 drives with 0%, is that normal? How do I stop filling the old drives which are filled up to 90% and use the new drives instead?

Easy,

Change your share allocation settings.  The various options are described in the wiki in the un-official manual here:
