ryanm91
Hi, I have the following system 5900x x570s Aorus Master xfx 6700xt 64gb ddr 4 3200 Windows on NVME pass through I pinned and isolated 10 cores for the Windows 11 VM I noticed when I play games with this new AMD card I get around 60 to 70 Fps but when I reboot into baremetal I can max my frames to 165. In the vm on Halo Infinite for instance no settings make a difference and it seems like my GPU cannot be fully utilized. I am passing through the vbios I dumped off the card. I will also add that things like and in game overlay don't work but do on baremetal. Quote Link to comment
ryanm91
One thing I noticed is bare metal I use around 20 to 30 percent cpu. When in the VM I use 70 to 80 percent cpu. I know Ryzen have issues is there something causing a bottleneck? Also strange to me that AMD overlay doesn't work in the vm. Quote Link to comment
DarkyCage
I'm using intel CPUs and I have the same issue Quote Link to comment

Tarcisio
Were you guys able to solve the problem? Performance of my Gaming VM is really bad. Stuttering/Lagging and low fps (half compared to bare metal). Quote Link to comment
Jumbo_Erdnuesse
Set your BIOS and Unraid to CSM/Legacy mode. Do not use the latest Radeon drivers. Use WHQL drivers. I used 22.11.2 and it did not work, performance was sluggish. I had to use 22.5.1 WHQL driver to solve that. A lot of errors in dealing with VM are solved when you realise that when you make changes to the VM template in the GUI all former changes you made in the XML template get discarded. As soon as you click the "Update" button in the GUI the current XML gets overwritten by a standard template and you have to edit your XML setting again. Also this may help you if you are using Unraid 6.11.5: Edited December 16, 2022 by Jumbo_Erdnuesse Quote Link to comment
