WIFI Device and Unraid

Featured Replies

So, I need to temporarily move my Unraid box to a location that doesn't have an Ethernet connection.  I have a spare NetGear A6210 wifi device and was trying to set it up in Unraid, but I'm not having any success.  I've read that the WiFi device should be supported by the Mediatek mt76 Kernel Module.  Is there any tutorials or articles on how to set up a wifi device for use by Unraid?  I'm not running anything heavy on this box, it's just used to hold old family pictures and videos.

UnRAID does not support WiFi directly.  It MUST have a wired connection.  However, you can use a WiFi bridge device (plug in a cable to server and other end to bridge) or a powerline adapter which plugs into a wall electrical outlet and has an Ethernet port for connecting the server.

The linked items are just examples and not necessarily recommended devices.

Ah thanks... didn't even think to try the wifi bridge route.  I'll try that first and if that doesn't work, I'll go the power line route.  Thanks!
