November 30, 20223 yr I just purchased Unraid, and am setting up my build. I already have an LSI 9200-16E HBA. Can I use it with my internal drives? Like, can I loop the cable back into the case to my drive, or is that a bad idea? Thanks in advance!
December 1, 20223 yr You can, assuming SATA drives the cables should not be longer than 1m, and better if they are shorter.

My only complaint with the setup was that the 3xSFF-8088 to SATA cabling cost more than the HBA (server pull)
