cache drive is not clearing. attempting to upgrade cache drive

It might help if you gave more information on files that are not being moved that you think should be.   Note that any files that are open will not be moved.

I am sorry. My mind moved faster than my hands. prior to attempting to upgrade the drive. I stopped all docker and vm instances, made sure all of the shares were set to yes, except the backup share as I did not have room for the cache to use it. I invoke the mover in an attempt to get the files off mainly the appdata and the system share. the main issue is unless I put in the original cache drive my docker instances do not have their settings and no vms are listed. I would like to be able to upgrade the cache drive without having to restore/rebuild dockers or vms.

Nothing can move open files. You have to disable Docker and VM Manager in Settings

I will try that thank you.

I disabled both and started the mover. it did not work for me.

You have still not given any indication of what the names of files are that are not being moved :(

it is worth noting that any files at the top level (I.e. not in folders) would be ignored by mover as they are not part of any share.

What do you get from the command line with this?

ls -lah /mnt/cache

Are you trying to get mover to move these? Mover won't replace files so any files that already exist on the array won't be moved.

What do you get from the command line with these?

ls -lah /mnt/user0/appdata
ls -lah /mnt/cache/appdata

Those files and folders in /mnt/user0 are on the array. Mover won't replace them by moving files from cache. You will have to decide which to keep and delete the other.

Dynamix File Manager plugin will let you work with files and folders directly on the server.
